We represent employees in disputes with their employers, including discrimination, harassment, and retaliation claims, wrongful discharge, wage and hour violations, and interference with family and medical leave or disability accommodation rights. We also negotiate separation and severance agreements, review employment and consulting terms before they are signed, analyze non-compete and non-solicitation provisions, and handle charges before the EEOC and the North Carolina Department of Labor.

We represent individuals injured through the negligence of others, including motor vehicle collisions and premises liability claims. We handle the matter from investigation and demand through negotiation with the carrier, and file suit when the insurer will not resolve the claim on fair terms.

We evaluate and pursue claims arising from negligent medical, dental, and other professional health care treatment, including failures of diagnosis, surgical and procedural errors, and departures from the applicable standard of care. Because these claims require expert review and are subject to strict procedural requirements and filing deadlines under North Carolina law, we assess each matter carefully before accepting representation.

We represent policyholders whose claims have been denied, delayed, or underpaid, including theft, property damage, and casualty claims. We evaluate the policy language, the insurer’s stated basis for denial, and the availability of claims under North Carolina’s unfair and deceptive trade practices and unfair claim settlement practices statutes.

We provide coordinating counsel services to insurers, employers, and defense firms in workers’ compensation matters, including claim file review, compensability analysis, and preparation of investigative and status reporting. This work is performed on behalf of retaining counsel and carriers rather than individual claimants.
